The government has created a coupon program to help households who wish to keep their analog TV sets after June 12, 2009. The program which allows U.S. households to obtain two coupons, worth $40 each, can be applied to the cost of eligible converter boxes. (https://dtv2009.gov/ApplyCoupon.aspx)
Due to overwhelming demand, the government program offering $40 coupons to help offset the cost of DTV converter boxes has temporarily run out of money, much sooner than anticipated.
However, when you submit your request for a coupon, your name will automatically go on a waiting list. When more expired coupons go unused each week, more coupons will be issued to those on the waiting list on a priority basis.
Again, we apologize for the temporary inconvenience. Thank you.
