JOB SUMMARY
KCETLink, a leader in independent public media, has an immediate opening for an experienced Foundations/Development temporary employee. This full-time position will contribute to fundraising efforts that garner resources for KCETLink's operations and programs from family, private and corporate foundations; government agencies; major donors; and membership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
The Foundations/Development temporary employee will develop and implement appropriate strategies to attract foundation, corporate foundation and government agency donors; research and initiate contact with new prospective donors; assist with determining short-term and long-term fundraising goals; work closely with the development staff, senior managers and key program staff to develop strategies for potential donors; research, formulate and write grant documents, including proposals, stewardship reports and acknowledgement correspondence; and monitor progress of and help establish timelines for grant projects, including detailed reports for funding sources. Additionally, this position will help with a range of general development functions, including drafting fundraising appeals and acknowledgment letters; donor management; gift processing; and database management activities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
For consideration, you must have a proven track record in foundation and corporate development; exceptional writing, editing, proofreading and communication skills; and experience with computer-based prospect management programs and Excel spreadsheet programs. The ability to determine priorities, set goals and objectives, and adhere to timelines is critical. The Foundations/Development temporary employee will work full-time at the San Francisco offices of Link TV. The duration of the temporary position is 4 months, with the possibility of an extension.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's Degree is preferred; an advanced degree is highly desirable. Familiarity with KCET and Link TV programming and the mission of independent public broadcasting is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodations. This position reports to the Director of Foundations and Corporate Relations.
