Drew Mackie Follow @kidicarus222
Associate Producer of New Media
Drew Mackie, KCET's associate director of new media, liked shows about old British people before it became fashionable to do so. Ahem. A graduate of UCSB, he's been writing about pop culture for various SoCal outlets for more than a decade. Once he saw Julia Child eating in Santa Barbara, and it was one of the happiest moments of his life.
Katherine Spiers Follow @katherinespiers
Food editor and Associate Producer
Prior to joining KCET.org as the food editor, Katherine was a freelancer writing strictly about fun things -- travel, gardens, bars and restaurants -- for publications such as Gourmet, LA Weekly, Budget Travel and the LA Times. Before coming to Los Angeles she was an assistant at the AP bureau in Rome, where most of her time was spent buying batteries and cough drops for the Vatican stringers. Working at KCET, creating original content showcasing the best in Southern California eating, is much better.

Kelly Simpson Follow @kellimpson
Associate Producer
I am an Associate Producer for KCET Departures and as a Baltimore native, I enjoy delving into the historical idiosyncrasies of my adopted West Coast home each day. To my surprise, it is possible to survive and thrive in L.A. without a car. On two wheels or less I journey the crowded L.A. streets people watching, soaking up the sun, or reading a good book while laughing at those in traffic. Catch me if you can on my non-fixed gear bike, for a laugh, baking tips or some of the endless information I'm collecting about the cultural history of L.A.
