KCET Brings Romance to the Airwaves with British Dramedy 'William and Mary' Starring Martin Clunes
KCET BRINGS ROMANCE TO THE AIRWAVES WITH BRITISH DRAMEDY 'WILLIAM AND MARY' STARRING MARTIN CLUNES
Just in time for Valentine's Day, viewers can fall in love with Clunes all over again and watch as romance evolves between two unlikely paramours in hit series.

Starring Martin Clunes (Doc Martin, Men Behaving Badly) and Julie Graham (Dirty Tricks, Butterfly Collectors) as William Shawcross and Mary Gilcrest, the series follows two single parents looking for love - and perhaps have found it. However, it isn't always smooth sailing when one is an undertaker and the other a midwife. William sees Mary on a dating service video and is captivated - only she's too busy bringing people into the world as a midwife to date someone whose job is to see them out.
The series, distributed by ITV, comes on the heels of the Season Four finale of Doc Martin on KCET, in which Clunes plays a distinctly different character.
"Viewers will be very surprised to see Clunes play such a starry-eyed lovable character in William and Mary after watching him for so long in his acerbic, grumpy role as Martin Ellingham in Doc Martin," said Bohdan Zachary, KCET's vice president of Broadcasting & Program Development. "I'm sure they will fall in love with him all over again in this brilliantly written show, which is sweet, quirky and often very moving."
KCET will air eight hour-long episodes of William and Mary Thursdays throughout February and March leading up to the Season Five debut of Doc Martin on KCET in May.
