Los Angeles - June 30, 2010 - KCET's on-air promotions team won two 2010 PromaxBDA Awards, which honors the best promotion work released in a specific market. The wins celebrate the creative excellence of on-air promotional spots - the Gold Award winner features PBS NOVA ScienceNow Host Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson, who answers questions from children about science as part of a campaign to promote KCET's children's programming block. The Silver Award winner promotes the seventh-season premiere of Tavis Smiley and features iconic landmarks throughout the city of Los Angeles, where the nightly PBS program tapes from the KCET studios
