Los Angeles, CA - October 6, 2010 - Beginning on October 27, Wednesday nights at 8:00 p.m. belong to MI-5, the gripping one-hour drama series about the challenges faced by the clandestine British Security Service and the people who make up the elite team. With the new date and time, KCET will launch the series with the first episode and continue each week's broadcast chronologically in sequence, enabling viewers to follow the action in its entirety from the beginning.
Like the CIA in America, MI-5 is the national security agency for the United Kingdom--an organization that brings its operatives into mortal danger on a regular basis. The fast-moving series follows the daring exploits of Section B, a small group of top-flight agents in the counter-terrorism division. Tied closely to events happening around the globe, the stories interweave high-tech, covert plans of action with the complications that such highly pressured jobs bring to interpersonal relationships--outside and inside of the department.
In the first episode, an MI-5 source passes on information that 20 bombs have gone astray between Ireland and the U.K. Within minutes, a car bomb explodes with tragic results.
SoCal Connected, KCET's Emmy® and Peabody Award-winning news program follows MI-5 on Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. An encore presentation of each week's MI-5 episode will air Saturdays at 10:00 p.m.
