Born and raised in the Philippines, Lilledeshan Bose moved to the US in 2003 and settled in Orange County. Her creative writing has been published in the US, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Finland and China, but she’s also worked as an editor at the Press-Enterprise, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel and OC Weekly. Bose has dabbled in film, music and performance poetry, but these days, she’s obsessed with her 1-year-old son, Jah.

WHY I LOVE WHERE I LIVE: People talk about Orange County being sterile, but that’s a terribly inaccurate. To love Orange County, you have to be a sleuth. You have to WANT to find things. You need that inquisitive spirit, since there’s so much to discover. From the best Vietnamese food in Westminster, to garage bands practicing in industrial warehouses in Santa Ana to live artists at Fullerton hip-hop shows, you’ll see that each city has its own unique character.
