WHAT INSPIRES ME: Good movies, good music, good food and good company.

FAVORITE PLACE TO GET AWAY IN MY AREA: At the top of the trail at Bishop Peak, in the hills of San Luis Obispo.

FAVORITE WRITERS: To name just a few, David Sedaris, Richard Russo, Evelyn Waugh, Philip K. Dick, Ursula LeGuin, Agatha Christie, Mary Roach and Bill Bryson.

ARTIST/CREATIVE YOU’D WANT TO HAVE LUNCH WITH: “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” creator Joss Whedon.

MOST OVER-HYPED ARTIST: It’s a tie between Taylor Swift and Scarlet Johansson.

PERFECT SOUNDTRACK FOR WRITING: The sound of silence.

WHY I LOVE WHERE I LIVE: Between the golden beaches, the quaint mission towns and the rolling hills dappled with oak trees and vineyards, you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful place to live. Plus, the weather is just about perfect.

ART YOU MAKE (IF YOU MAKE ANY...): I specialize in fiber arts. I sew, knit, felt, weave and create elaborate costumes.
