KCET Cinema Series members got an early look at the latest film adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's classic novel "Anna Karenina" at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in North Hollywood. The screening was followed by a 30 minute Q&A led by host Pete Hammond with director Joe Wright and star Keira Knightley.
About the film:
Based on the 1877 novel by Leo Tolstoy and adapted for the big screen by director Joe Wright and screenwriter Tom Stoppard, this epic drama set in 19th century Russian high-society, follows the life of aristocrat Anna Karenina (Keira Knightley) and her life-changing affair with the affluent Count Vronsky (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). The film is visually rich with beautiful costumes and gorgeous cinematography. The film premiered at this year's Toronto Film Festival.
