The KCET Cinema Series continued on Monday, September 24, with a screening of "Butter," a new comedy staring Jennifer Garner. After the screening, host Pete Hammond was joined on stage by screenwriter Jason Micallef.
About the film:
A tale of competition at its most cut-throat in small-town Iowa. This comedy analyzes the raw ambition of Laura Pickler (Jennifer Garner), the wife of Bob Pickler (Ty Burrell), Iowa's long-reigning champion butter carver. Bob decides to retire; Laura intends to hold on to the family's title, when she finds herself pitted against the carving talents of a young girl.
