'Damsels in Distress' Podcast and Photo Gallery

The KCET Cinema Series gives moviegoers the opportunity to watch and meet the creative power behind independent films before their local release. At last night's screening of 'Damsels in Distress' at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in the NoHo Arts District, not only did the audience meet the director of the film, but also most of the staring cast!

About the film:

Oscar nominated screenwriter Whit Stillman's (Metropolitan) latest revolves around a trio of girls led by Greta Gerwig who set out to revolutionize life at a grungy American University.

After the screening, host Pete Hammond was joined on the stage by director Whit Stillman and stars Greta Gerwig, Analeigh Tipton, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Carrie MacLemore, and Adam Brody. The cast and director talked about the challenges encountered in college, acting roles for women, the film's location, and Stillman's witty dialogue.
