This Tuesday, the KCET Cinema Series brings you one of the most highly anticipated movies of the fall. Ben Affleck's third directorial effort, the dramatic thriller "Argo", chronicles the declassified true story of a covert rescue operation in the midst of the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis.

Six American diplomats manage to evade capture after the American Embassy is seized. They find refuge in the Canadian Ambassador's home, knowing full well they face a horrific end if they're discovered. Top CIA "exfiltration" expert Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck) is called in to devise a strategy to safely bring the six home. His risky plan, to produce a fake Hollywood movie as a cover, could just be their best and only hope. The all-star cast also includes Bryan Cranston, Alan Arkin, and John Goodman.

The film's editor William Goldenberg ("Heat", "The Insider", "Gone Baby Gone") joins host Pete Hammond for a Q&A after the screening!

Don't have season passes? A $20 contribution to KCET's Cinema Series will get you in at the door. Doors open at 6 PM, film starts at 7 PM.
