On November 1, KCET Cinema Series will be screening "The Descendants," a new film from Alexander Payne. Based on the novel by Kaui Hart Hemmings, the story is set in beautiful Hawaii and revolves around Matt King (George Clooney) struggling to raise his two daughters while dealing with his wife's boating accident and family's ancestral land. Screened at several film festivals this year, the film (and Clooney) are already generating Oscar buzz.
Here are film reviews and interviews:

- Telluride Film Fest Review from Variety
- Austin Film Festival Wrapup from Big Shiny Robotz
- Alexander Payne "I want my films to be charming and entertaining"
- Actress Shailene Woodley "He's [George Clooney] not only laid back but he's truly humble and grateful"
The Descendants open on November 18, 2011
