Previewing 'The Magic of Belle Isle'
June 5th, 7PM: The Magic of Belle Isle
Followed by a Q&A with director Rob Reiner
Ever get the urge to yell at the top of your lungs at nothing and everything, all at once? Recovering alcoholic Monte Wildhorn (Morgan Freeman) does. And it's a feeling he begrudgingly indulges in Rob Reiner's latest, "The Magic of Belle Isle."
Surly and uninspired, famous Western novelist Monte embarks on a summer sojourn at the picturesque Belle Isle in an attempt to reinvigorate his writing. But it's the unexpected charm of his neighbor (Virginia Madsen), a beautiful single mother to three young daughters, and the tender friendship that forms between them that will prove most instrumental in helping Monte reawaken his passions and rewrite his own story.
Join KCET in kicking off its 2012 Summer Series at The Aero with this sure-to-be feel good hit of the summer before it's in theaters. Stick around afterwards for a Q&A with Mr. Rob Reiner himself, the man and legend behind such celluloid gems as "The Princess Bride," "When Harry Met Sally," "The American President," and "The Bucket List."
