Peabody Award

"A Place of Our Own" and "Los Niños en Su Casa" were honored with the Peabody Award, the oldest, most prestigious award in electronic media. The Peabody Award acknowledges outstanding works exhibiting excellence, distinguished achievement and meritorious service.

Japan Prize

The websites for "A Place of Our Own" and "Los Niños en Su Casa" were awarded the Japan Prize for Outstanding Educational Website -- Worldwide. The websites were selected for offering the best educational value and resources online in combination with a TV program. The Japan Prize International Educational Program aims to contribute to the advancement of educational programs around the world and the promotion of international understanding and cooperation.

National Association for Family Child Care's National Advocacy Award

The National Advocacy Award was presented to KCET by the National Association for Family Child Care, the country's leading organization of child care providers. The award is presented annually to an individual or organization that supports the role of family child care in the field of early care and education.

Daytime Emmy Nominations

"A Place of Our Own" and "Los Niños en Su Casa" were nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show (Informative). "Sid the Science Kid" received two Daytime Emmy Nominations for Outstanding Children's Animated Program and Outstanding Achievement in Main Title & Graphic Design. The Daytime Emmy Awards are presented by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which recognizes excellence in television and promotes the advancement of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements with in the television industry.

Los Angeles Emmy Award

"Los Niños en Su Casa" was the recipient of a local Emmy Award for Outstanding Informational Series (Studio-Based). The Los Angeles Emmy Awards are administered by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and are given for excellence in broadcast achievements produced by Los Angeles television stations.
