Come join in on the Hammer's annual celebration of jazz music, with JazzPOP, the museum's outdoor concert program that takes place every Thursday this month. This week, come hear the Industrial Jazz Group's unique sounds and collaborations created by the 15-person group.
The Hammer sums it up the best:
"Portland-based composer and pianist Andrew Durkin's Industrial Jazz Group, a 15-piece explosion of winds, groove, and energy, is a collective of the best, brightest and most irreverent jazz musicians from Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Durkin's band fearlessly traverses funk, grunge, schmaltz, retro pop, prog rock, avant-garde jazz, and pitch-perfect big band swing in his airtight arrangements and compositions."
ALL HAMMER PUBLIC PROGRAMS ARE FREE. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. Hammer members receive priority seating, subject to availability. Reservations not accepted, RSVPs not required.
