William Kentridge has created masterpieces out of his charcoal drawings, cut outs and manipulation of film. Through the use light and stop motion photography, he animates his hand-drawn characters and pushes the boundaries of perception.
The acclaimed South African artists explores social tension and individual identity in his work. The Hammer Museum will present a screening of his new documentary William Kentridge: Anything is Possible on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. You can check out a sample of his work in an interview with the Metropolitan Opera:
