This program curated by performance artist Nancy Buchanan highlights experiments in video art and music from the 1980s.
From the REDCAT website:
In the early 1980s, many artists were excited by the possibility of showing video art on television--a promise that was broken by commercialism. This selection of short videos takes inspiration from the spirit of Ernie Kovacs, television impresario and music lover, as it highlights some of the era's most compelling video art accompanied by music.Featured artists include Bob Snyder, Cynthia Maughan, Dara Birnbaum and Philip Mallory Jones.
