Author and KCET columnist Susan Straight and photographer Douglas McCulloh will discuss their joint exhibition More Dreamers of the Golden Dream, which pairs McCulloh's images with Straight's stories.
The Venice Arts website describes the exhibition:
McCulloh's large-scale photographs will be paired with Straight telling tales, which viewers can hear on their cell phones. The exhibition will also feature McCulloh's recent project "Dream Street," a chronicle set in motion when the artist wins the right to name a new street and decides to document the revealing and sometimes brutal process of building a new neighborhood in Southern California.For more background on the exhibition, check out Straight's Notes of a Native Daughter column on KCET.
