Now in its seventh year, this citywide hike takes participants from downtown Los Angeles all the way to the ocean -- this time via Melrose Avenue.
The 17-mile trek moves at a casual, all-day pace, allowing walkers to enjoy the sights and sounds of L.A. from a street-level perspective.
From the Great L.A. Walk website:
The Walk will run down 1st, which turns into Beverly Blvd., up Virgil Ave., across Melrose Ave. and down Santa Monica Boulevard to the ocean. Along the way, walkers will encounter sites such as Dorothy Chandler Pavilion; the original Tommy's; the epicenter of LA's bike culture at Heliotrope; Paramount Studios; Raleigh Studios; the Melrose shopping district; the Pacific Design Center; and much more.The walk departs from the front steps of Walt Disney Concert Hall promptly at 9 a.m. Full event info is available on the website.
