Filmmaker James Crump will appear in person to screen his 2007 documentary Black, White + Gray: A Portrait of Sam Wagstaff + Robert Mapplethorpe.
The 76-minute film chronicles the relationship between the photographer Robert Mapplethorpe and the curator Sam Wagstaff and features interviews with Patti Smith, Dominick Dunne, Richard Tuttle, Eugenia Parry, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and Ralph Gibson.
Crump will participate in a Q&A after the screening, and LACMA photography curator Britt Salvesen and Getty photography curator Frances Terpak will also share comments. For more information, go to the Cinefamily website.
