After a protracted offseason due to a player lockout, the National Hockey League is back. The new shortened season begins this week, with our own defending Stanley Cup champions taking on the Chicago Blackhawks at home. Unfortunately, the team will be missing star player Anze Kopitar, who injured himself playing overseas, but the rest of the team (including goalie Jonathan Quick) will be back on the ice for the home opener. The puck drops at noon at Staples Center downtown, and single game tickets are available beginning on Monday at 6pm.
