ROC-LA, the Restaurant Opportunities Center of Los Angeles, is hosting a cocktail and appetizer party at Chaya Downtown on Wednesday, January 16th at 6pm. The early evening event will focus on bridging the food gap between delicious meals and sustainable practices, both in the food and the restaurant as a whole. The $45 price tag will include a copy of the center's Eat Ethically Guide, which offers diners a look at which L.A. restaurants do the most for their workers and help promote an equitable food industry. Attendees will also receive the 2013 National Diners' Guide, which outlines wages, benefits and advancement opportunities at some of America's top dining destinations, and a copy of the book Behind the Kitchen Door, which explores these themes extensively.
