Jerrold Turney, a plant pathologist and certified arborist, leads this new four-week class about the diverse trees of the Southland.

From the arboretum website:

This class will teach you about 15 different trees on each of four Saturdays for a total of 60 trees, beginning on February 2, 2013. Each one hour lecture will cover 15 tree species followed by a walk in the Arboretum to see the trees that were covered during the lecture.
The class will also cover how to identify trees, their growth habits, their native countries and how they should be cared for.
