Los Angeles-based photographer and UCLA professor Catherine Opie is currently showing at the Regen Projects gallery. The series of portraits and landscapes offer an unflinching diagnosis of both the subject and the land, often rife with emotional undertones. The photographs offer a relationship to a previous time, with 17th century poses and open landscapes that seem to have been painted into reality. The work runs through March 29th.
