Eight decades after the 1933 Long Beach earthquake (pictured), Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske and KCET's own Val Zavala will host a workshop on how to prepare for the next major temblor.
The event will focus on educating residents on earthquakes and the importance of being prepared, with presentations by the U.S. Geological Survey, FEMA, Cal EMA, the Long Beach Fire Department, Long Beach CERT and the American Red Cross. Attendees will also learn how to develop a neighborhood emergency preparedness plan.
For more information, call 562-570-6932 or email district5@longbeach.gov.
