A few weeks before Los Angeles residents will vote on three ballot measures to regulate medical marijuana, the California Science Center's Science Matters series presents this panel discussion exploring the hotly debated issue.
The panelists are Donald P. Taskin, a professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA; Bridget Freisthler, an associate professor in the Department of Social Welfare at the Luskin School of Public Affairs; Sari J. Steel, the principal deputy county counsel in Los Angeles; and Joyce Weitzberg, a retired nurse and former medical marijuana dispensary director.
The panel "will address this complex problem from a variety of perspectives: medical science, community impact, public policy, and ethics." For more information, and to register, go to the event website.
