Acclaimed choreographer Trisha Brown brings her famed dance work for rooftops to the Getty Center.
Originally conceived in 1971 on the rooftops of SoHo, the work has lived on in recreations and in photographic documentation.
From the Getty website:
The two Getty Center performances feature Trisha Brown Dance Company members wearing fire-red costumes performing in locations spanning the entire site. This is the first time Roof Piece will be performed in the context of an architectural structure specifically devoted to art.
Performances are at 1PM and 3:30PM.
Additionally, at 11AM, Noon and 2PM, there will be screenings of 'Roof Piece on the High Line,' a short film documenting a performance of 'Roof Piece' on New York City's High Line in 2011.
