Rancho Los Alamitos presents its second season of Conversations in Place, in which scholars, authors, journalists and community leaders discuss the past, present and future of Southern California.
Claudia Jurman, director of special projects and publications at RLA, will co-moderate the series with KCET's own D.J. Waldie.
This installment, titled The Nature of Place: From The Rancho to the New Urban Scene -- When Ordinary Becomes Extraordinary, will explore how "people are discovering the value of 'ordinary places' within a region and state and people famous for its iconic, extraordinary imagery."
Panelists include L.A. Times architecture critic Christopher Hawthorne, L.A. Magazine architecture critic Greg Goldin, and architects Alan Pullman and Michael Bohn.
