Armory Center for the Arts' ongoing series Conscientious Projector screens a documentary focusing on the state of hunger in America and its economic, social and cultural implications.
From the Armory Center website:
Directors Kristi Jacobson and Lori Silverbush examine the issues via the personal stories of people struggling with food insecurity and facing a national rise in diseases related to inadequate nutrition. Their heartrending accounts are interwoven with insights from experts including sociologist Janet Poppendieck, author Raj Patel, nutrition policy leader Marion Nestle, and activists such as Witness to Hunger's Mariana Chilton, Bread for the World's David Beckman, Top Chef's Tom Colicchio, and actor/founder of the End Hunger Network Jeff Bridges.
