The UCLA Film & Television Archive presents newly preserved versions of three works by the experimental filmmaker Stan Brakhage: Eyes, Deus Ex and The Act of Seeing With Ones Own Eyes, collectively known as The Pittsburgh Documents.

From the event website:

For five decades, Brakhage worked in a highly distinctive, individualistic vein, mining celluloid cinema and--at least in his hands--its seemingly limitless potential for the articulation of raw subjective experience and pre-linguistic vision.
Schedule permitting, filmmaker Werner Herzog, a friend and admirer of Brakhage, will attend and participate in a disucssion with preservationist Mark Toscano.
