With a cross-cultural mix of oddities, obscurities and all manner of quirkiness, TwentyWonder bills itself as a carnival of the mind. Originally begun in 2010 in Culver City before moving to Echo Park under the care of the L.A. Derby Dolls, this annual event features shows, storytelling, comedians, visual acts, performance pieces, booths, and the sort of DIY impossibilities that make for a truly mind-bending experience. Done all in the name of research awareness for those with Downs Syndrome, TwentyWonder also delivers big names like Jim Hodgson (he of Mystery Science Theater 3000 fame) and Sam Simon, co-creator of The Simpsons.
