The award-winning cartoonist Chris Ware ("Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth") will discuss his work in conversation with Michael Silverblatt, host of the KCRW radio show "Bookworm."

Ware is known for spare and stunning innovation that pushes the boundaries of comic-book storytelling. Chris Ware's work has also appeared in many national and international art exhibits, including the Whitney Biennial exhibit in 2002. He continues to publish comic strips--which he started doing in the late 60s as a student at the University of Texas at Austin--in the pages of the Virginia Quarterly Review. His ongoing Acme Novelty Library series reached its 20th issue in 2010.Fowler Out Loud will also present a spoken-word and literary event inspired by Ware's work beginning at 6 p.m.
