The Dept. of Water and Power marks the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Los Angeles Aqueduct, which first delivered water from the Eastern Sierras on Nov. 5, 1913 and helped the city grow into a major metropolis.

The event will feature food, refreshments and a live broadcast of a re-enactment of the aqueduct's opening, when LADWP head William Mulholland famously said, "There it is. Take it."
