Laptop War

Through the work of Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Rick Loomis, the videoblog Alive in Baghdad, a selection of military blogs, and the PBS documentary Operation Homecoming, this issue of Web Stories will explore the ways in which new media technologies and the internet have changed the immediacy, look and veracity of the war, exposing the limits
of our mainstream media and shedding light on new models of citizen and participatory journalism.

I really enjoyed the angle of this issue. From the photographs and narration of Rick Loomis to the interviews of the bloggers, and the video clips, we really get a nice fresh perspective on the war and the way it is seen by those who have participated in it. Very Cool. Thanks for this.

Fantastic job on these pieces by both KCET and the solider bloggers.... We need more accurate representation of the actions and consequences of war from the frontlines. Kudos!

Wow. Not your typical war correspondent story. Loved seeing the all the frames that you all put out there instead of just a piece about lame news coverage of the war. --keep doing these kinds of stories.
