The Getty Villa
They say everything's been done before. In the case of the exhibit, Modern Antiquity: Picasso, de Chirico, Léger, and Picabia in the Presence of the Antique, it's about seeing what's already been done with new eyes. "Exploring three thematic categories--stories, bodies, and objects--the exhibition illuminates what these 20th-century artists found arresting in ancient culture." The visual dialogue between the antique and the modern continues.
