Green Peas: Raw Kale Salad

Here it is! Our first installment of Free Lunch, "Where You're the Reviewer."

For this episode, we took commenter The Actor's Diet - aka Lynn Chen - to Green Peas in Culver City. Lynn ordered the raw kale salad, which is supposed to be vegan, except that she added chicken to it. As you'll see, I had a prosciutto sandwich. If you want to learn more about our first Free Lunch expedition, you can go to Lynn's website.

Raw Kale Salad "Unveganized"

Green Peas is a charming little place that wants "you to feel healthy, happy and full." Looking at the video above, I think they accomplished that for Lynn. We really liked that they offer a choice of breads, and, even though we did not partake, the desserts looked really good.

Here's a look at their menu, albeit from afar, in case we've wetted your appetite.

Enjoyed watching this - and great to find out about a new restaurant. It looks friendly and the food looks delicious. Will have to try it.

I have a great idea for one of your segments. Saugus Cafe is the oldest restaurant in Los Angeles County. The owner started out working as a bus boy and eventually worked his way up to bartender and cook. He then bought the restaurant with one of the waitresses. Fun place any time of day or night.

I love Green Peas! There are so many fun places in Mar Vista/Culver City...Wanna take me to lunch at The Wood or Curious Palate? YUM. :)

Cafe Brasil on Washington Boulevard (another location on Venice Blvd. near Overland) has fantastic flavors and the quality is top notch.

I'm right with you on that prosciutto sandwich, Diego. Nom Nom Nom.
