Liquid Tuesday: Labor Day Libations Edition

Starting tonight, you'll have plenty of reasons to celebrate the week ahead. Or, drink away your future pains, whichever the case may be. It's truly a Liquid Tuesday, with three different -- and each fantastic -- drinking events taking place across town. Of course, if you can't make it out until the weekend, there are a couple of spectacular drinking events tied in with The Taste, going down Saturday through Monday at the Paramount Studios lot on Melrose. Then again, it's Labor Day weekend -- you don't need an excuse to drink.

If you're interested in starting early, Ford's Filling Station in Culver City continues their Boozy Tuesday tradition, where they mix up new and interesting libations each week. This go-round they've gone south of the border and come back with a whole bunch of Casa Noble tequila. Of course, this isn't just any old agave, it's 100% Blue and certified organic. They'll be pouring a variety of drinks all night, including a wonderfully fruity Mango Tango. If you're more of a straight-from-the-tap kind of person, you can keep it local at the Blue Dog Beer Tavern in Sherman Oaks. They're hosting neighbors Golden Road Brewing for a special cask night, where the local boys will be pouring full barrels of their West Kolsch. If that's not enough to entice you, the regular slate of Point the Way IPAs and the new Wolf Among Weeds will be on hand as well.

If you're looking to pre-party your weekend, Tuesday also has some surprises from the Speakeasy Brewery out of San Francisco. The dynamic brewers will be on hand at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank to talk suds and share in the delight of their 15th anniversary. Special beers will be flowing all night, in addition to the regular arsenal of ales and lagers. But, if you just want to stay in until the weekend, that's okay too. Just make sure you hit up The Taste, a weekend-long culinary event that's usually the highlight of the summer. Tickets are steep, but with Saturday's Cocktail Confidential and Sunday's Dinner & Drinks, you can get your money's worth. Both events feature craft drinks, local bartenders and plenty of demonstrations to keep you interested.

It's also Labor Day weekend, if you hadn't noticed. Maybe instead of fighting the crowds at the Paramount Studios lot, you can just swing by Sunset Beer Company and pick up a six pack of something rather crafty. If you're following our advice, you could even make it a Magic Hat #9. Whatever you decide to do, stay safe this weekend. Everyone knows an idiot, and this weekend all those idiots are likely to be out on the road.
