October is National Dessert Month: it may be the season for trick-or-treating, but that doesn't mean you have to limit yourself to bargain bags of Snickers and caramel apples. L.A. is home to some fantastic desserts, from refined post-dinner delicacies made with a blowtorch to a simple chocolate chip cookie, perfectly crafted.
