Make a roadside stop almost anywhere along the coastline from Boston to Maine and you're bound to find oysters on the menu, freshly shucked on the half shell or fried in a roll with tartar sauce. And lately, oysters from near (and far) have been making more consistent appearances in L.A. restaurants. Eat them raw, with classic cocktail sauce or an interesting mignonette, or have them grilled, fried, baked, or sandwiched. In honor of National Oyster Day, here's a gallery of L.A.'s freshest finds.
