L.A. loves a good farmer's market -- and here they are 52-weeks-a-year things of wonder. Everyone has their spot close to home, and we all know and love the big markets, crowded as they can be. Still, we're always glad to hear of new options, and today we have three. With these weekday and weekend markets, you're guaranteed fresh eats and handcrafted treats almost every day ... all year long. Happy shopping!
Port of Los Angeles's new craft market, aptly named Crafted, is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 52 weeks a year. This twist on the classic farmers market puts the focus on arts and crafts vendors, but don't worry: you won't go hungry. With a selection of artisan food vendors and loads of food trucks outside, Crafted is a great way to experience some genuine L.A. flavor. Head to the market, snack on some local fare, and check out the Queen Mary or the U.S.S. Iowa.

Altadena may be out in the 'burbs to an Angeleno, but the new Altadena Farmer's Market sure isn't. Bread made downtown, jams from Silver Lake, and eggs from Glassell Park round out a vendor list that is just as much city as it is "country." With farm-fresh offerings and delicious prepared food, Altadena's formerly underground market (they didn't have a permit for quite some time) is making its formal debut in style.

South Lake Avenue Farmer's Market opened for year-round business on July 10th, and they've seemed to tap in to L.A. trends perfectly. In addition to your usual Farmer's Market fare -- but without the typical packed crowd and sparse parking (ahem, Hollywood and Silver Lake), this Tuesday morning market also offers free yoga.

Dearest friends at KCET. The South Lake Avenue Farmer's Market is not located in South Pasadena. I imagine there may have been some confusion because it's called South Lake Avenue, but while that might be in what could be considered a southern area of Pasadena it is not in the city of South Pasadena. The City of South Pasadena does have a lovely Farmers Market, but it doesn't have a Lake Avenue.
