Video: Yosemite Beautifully Time-Lapsed in HD

If you still haven't been to Yosemite National Park, might this be your tipping point? Sheldon Neill and Colin Delehanty, who became friends through Vimeo, spent a handful of days collaborating on this beautiful time-lapse video for what they are calling Project Yosemite.

It was done using a Canon 5D Mark II with Canon L and Zeiss CP.2 Lenses. The motion bits were accomplished with a six-foot aluminum dolly from Dynamic Perception.

For Neil, time-lapse photography is much more satisfying than still photography, in which he says people tend to go sight to sight, snap a picture and move on. "With time-lapse photography you get out, bust out a lawn chair and just set up your tripod and sit there for a few hours while a camera takes stills," he explained in a behind-the-scenes documentary (embedded below), "and you just kind of surround yourself with the environment; just take in everything it has to offer. It's what I love about it."
