The prize-winning investigative reporter-turned-chief-editor is eager to boost show ratings and appease network execs, even at the expense of news value. His disdain for Katrine's journalistic integrity is reflected in his every move.Portrayed by: Søren Malling
TV1 anchor, Kasper's girlfriend, former Express reporter. He sees great talent in the journalist, but has no patience for her hardheadedness and preachy ways. The two constantly argue over journalistic standards. Katrine quits when she finds out that Torben has allowed Kasper to edit a news package, but eventually returns to TV1 after a slew of odd jobs.
Birgitte's press advisor/speech writer, Katrine's boyfriend. The two strike up less than ethical deals when arranging TV1 interviews with Birgitte. He later gives Katrine his blessing in dating the spin doctor.
TV1 temp reporter, former Express editor. Torben fires Hanne, who's a pain in the butt know-it-all, when he learns that she fell off the wagon. She therefore goes to work for Laugesen. Katrine agrees to return to TV1 under the condition that Toben re-hires her bosom buddy Hanne as well.
TV1 reporter. Torben seems to prefer Ulrik to Katine, even though he knows in his heart of hearts that she's a far superior reporter.
TV1 editor. Unlike Katrine, Hanne, and Ulrik, his obedient editor never questions any of his decisions in the newsroom.
