The episode offers a look at the award-winning film "Arise!", which documents the intellectual and spiritual insights that women from around the world bring to solving today's environmental challenges. Mother-daughter filmmakers Lori Joyce and Candace Orlando, and executive producer Molly Ross offer insight on the making of the movie, which profiles four outstanding female environmental leaders: Winona La Duke, exec director of Honor the Earth and the White Earth Land Recovery Project; Vandana Shiva, co-director of Navdanya -- a movement to protect the diversity of living resources, especially native seeds in Dehradun, India -- environmental justice advocate Majora Carter, the founder of Sustainable South Bronx; and environmental health analyst Dr. Theo Coburn, founder and president of The Endocrine Disruption Exchange.
