Shades of Gray: Living with Wolves

Gray wolves once roamed across North America. But they were nearly extinct in the 1930s after being trapped, poisoned, and hunted by ranchers, farmers, and government agents. The wolf population rebounded with protection under the 1973 Endangered Species Act, but is in danger again after losing federal protection in 2011. With hunting permitted in many western states, the future of this once endangered species is up in the air again.
