Now celebrating its 17th year, "Fine Cut: KCET's Annual Festival of Student Films" will showcase some of the finest documentaries as well as comedic, dramatic, and animated shorts by students. Legendary actor-producer Jack Larson hosts the four-week long series honoring filmmakers from seven renowned schools across Southern California.

Here are the three films featured in episode three:

Yamashita: A look at a young Japanese-American girl's struggle with identity, the breakdown of her family, and the rediscovery of her ancestry as she and her family are forced into internment camps during World War II.

Fabian Debora, A Life for Art: The transformative story of East Los Angeles painter Fabian Debora whose spiritual encounter with a near-death experience awakened him from the darkness of gang life, incarceration, and drug addiction.

The Promised Land: With immigration forces on her pursuit, Mary -- an illegal foreign worker living in Israel -- must decide between uprooting her son from the only place he calls home or risking deportation.
