About the Filmmaker

Jerome Sable

Jerome Sable is a writer, director and composer with credits in stage and film. His short films have premiered at festivals across the U.S. and Europe, and his dance musical, "Meanwhile..." won the 2009 Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker's Award. Recent projects include Fremantle Media's short romantic comedy series "crazy/sexy/awkward," which he co-created and directed, and "The Legend of Beaver Dam," a horror musical short for Bravo! which he co-created and co-composed with longtime collaborator Eli Batalion.

Originally from Montréal, Québec, Jerome's career as the "Sable" of "Sable & Batalion" goes back to 1993, when he formed a musical comedy duo with childhood friend Batalion. To date, Sable & Batalion have toured over 20 cities worldwide with their award-winning musical theatre shows, hailed by the L.A. Times as "groundbreaking".

Jerome received his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy with honors from Brown University and his MFA in filmmaking from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He is the recipient of the Avid Academic Scholarship and Grant Award, the School of Cinematic Arts Scholarship and the Harold Lloyd Memorial Scholarship for directing.
