Bellevue, Washington
Artist Aki Sogabe, who emigrated from Japan to Washington State in 1978, imbues the ancient art form of Japanese kiri-e, or paper cutting, with her own style. Her work has been the basis for numerous public art projects, as well as illustrations for many children's books.
