As a preview of KCET's Live Pledge Drive for Japan Relief on May 24, Socal Connected anchor Val Zavala will conduct a live web interview with Gene Otani, anchor of NHK's Newsline Wednesday May 18 at 3pm PST. The interview will be available on KCET's Ustream Channel, on KCET's Facebook page, and on the page you're currently reading.
Gene was one of the first T.V. news anchors to report live after the 9.0 earthquake hit Japan on March 11, 2011. During the interview, Gene will be discussing the day of the earthquake as well as the ongoing relief effort. You'll be able to ask Val and Gene questions, but you can also leave a question for Gene to in the comments below. You'll also be able to ask questions through Twitter by tweeting or direct messaging the @KCET account.
