Striking and unique, the architecture of China has a long history. For thousands of years people have been making the most of technology - from common houses to imperial palaces. Influenced by religion, weather, and nature, many ancient buildings have stood the test of time. Even today, it is common to see cutting edge, modern skyscrapers next to buildings that are hundreds of years old. The preserved buildings around China are more than just beautiful to look at - they are a window through time.
